LINEAR-YAW-STABILIZER™

Warp Stiffness:

The Linear-Yaw-Stabilizer™ increases the warp stiffness of a three piece freight car truck by linking each of the truck's side frames to the truck’s bolster with two pre-loaded linear yaw springs called Yoke Assemblies. The Yoke Assembly is supported on a side frame by a ball pivot and linked to the bolster. The Yoke Assembly is pre-loaded by the Rocker Assembly. The pre-loading provides the required truck warp resistance for proper performance.

Empty Car

The Linear-Yaw-Stabilizer™ at tare conditions increased truck warp stiffness spring rate from 4.3 inch-kips/mrad to 93.8 inch-kips/mrad.

Loaded Car

The Linear-Yaw-Stabilizer™ at laden conditions increased the truck warp stiffness spring rate from 26.3 inch-kips/mrad to 118.5 inch-kips/mrad.
